The ESC of Eastern Ohio Human Resources strives to provide quality service, leadership, and support to employees, candidates, and districts. The Office of Human Resources is responsible for recruitment, hiring, benefit administration, licensure, staff training, workers compensation, unemployment, FMLA, local/state/federal compliance and reporting, and maintaining employee records.

Licensure & Local Professional Development Committee

Responsibility of Employee

Obtaining, updating, and filing a valid license is the responsibility of all certificated employees. It is REQUIRED that personnel meet the requirements for renewal and updating of their license by following the procedures in the ESC of Eastern Ohio Individual Professional Development Manual. Questions regarding the Local Professional Development Committee can be directed to Kristen Osiniak (k.osiniak@esceasternohio.org).

Background Checks

The ESC of Eastern Ohio offers both BCI and FBI background checks using an electronic NationalWebCheck System for both education and non-education purposes..  It is the responsibility of the individual receiving the background check to provide the following information:

  • BCI or FBI codes

  • Direct Mail Agency (if applicable)

NOTE: The ESC of Eastern Ohio is unable to complete background checks for concealed weapons and hazmat.

ParaPro Assessment Information

ParaPro Assessments and Substitute Teaching is available through the Mahoning Valley Regional Council of Governments (MVRCOG).
