Helping Districts Navigate Career Readiness and Graduation Pathways

Ohio's graduation requirements and expanding career-readiness opportunities create new possibilities for students—and new responsibilities for school districts.

The ESC of Eastern Ohio Career Counseling team works alongside administrators, school counselors, and educators to help districts understand requirements, track student progress, develop career-readiness opportunities, and identify pathways that help students move successfully toward graduation.

GRADUATION DATA TRACKING

Career Counselors help districts evaluate student progress toward graduation by tracking information including:

  • End-of-Course points
  • ACT scores
  • Earned industry-recognized credentials

Working alongside school staff, Career Counselors can help identify students who may be at risk of not meeting graduation requirements and determine whether an alternate graduation pathway should be explored.

This proactive approach gives schools additional opportunities to address student needs before graduation becomes a barrier.

INDUSTRY CREDENTIAL SUPPORT

Industry-recognized credentials can provide students with valuable career preparation while supporting their progress toward graduation. Our Career Counseling team works closely with school counselors and educators through the research, planning, and implementation of credentialing opportunities.

We help districts explore options that prepare students to earn in-demand credentials sought by employers and build stronger pathways to success after high school.

CAREER READINESS CONSULTATION

Our Career Counseling team provides consultation services to administrators, school counselors, and staff on a variety of career-related topics.

Support includes:

  • Interpreting graduation requirements
  • Assisting school counselors with data tracking
  • Industry-recognized credential implementation
  • Training educators in career exploration
  • Developing job shadow experiences
  • Developing pre-apprenticeship opportunities

Consultations are available virtually or in person.
