SCHOOL SOCIAL WORK
The ESC Social Work Team works to promote mental wellness by encouraging trauma informed practice, supporting social and emotional learning, advocating for mental health supports, and engaging educators, students, and their families in prevention.
Direct Support
ESC school social workers provide direct support to students and families through family engagement, resource connection, case management, mental health supports, attendance interventions, vaping interventions, SEL supports, and crisis support and intervention.
Classroom Behavior Support
Our team works alongside school staff to create positive, trauma-informed learning environments and address behavioral needs. Support may include PBIS strategies, Tier 2 small-group interventions, classroom management strategies, MTSS support, student success planning, PAX teacher support, and professional development for paraprofessionals.
Prevention Education
ESC social workers support prevention education through programs and initiatives that address student mental health, wellness, and safety. Services include programming connected to Ohio House Bill 123 and Senate Bill 288 requirements, HELLO, Ericka’s Lighthouse curriculum, SPEAK Up, vaping education, and district-specific initiatives.
Experienced School Social Work Professionals
The ESC School Social Work Team includes highly trained professionals with BSW and MSW degrees, including Licensed Social Workers and Licensed Independent Social Workers. Team members bring extensive experience working with children, families, and school communities and have participated in the DEW School Social Work Mentoring Program to strengthen evidence-based, school-centered practices.

Professional Development Opportunities
The ESC School Social Work Team is composed of highly trained professionals holding BSW and MSW degrees, with a mix of Licensed Social Workers (LSW) and Licensed Independent Social Workers (LISW).
These licensures meet requirements that support eligibility for School Medicaid reimbursement, providing added value to partnering districts.
Team members have participated in the DEW School Social Work Mentoring Program, strengthening their use of evidence-based, school-centered practices. Collectively, the team brings extensive experience working with children, families, and school communities through collaboration, intervention, and coordinated supports to promote student success.
