Written Education Plans (WEPs) for Gifted Students
All school districts in Ohio reporting services to gifted students must have on file a copy of a Written Education Plan (WEP) for each student served.

VISUAL AND PERFORMING ARTS IDENTIFICATION

According to Ohio law and district policy, students in grades Kindergarten through 12 may be nominated for assessment for gifted identification.  Nominated students will be evaluated by local school districts using a checklist of gifted behaviors. Parents, teachers, peers, or students themselves may nominate possible candidates for evaluation.

The ESC of Eastern Ohio supports districts in identifying and assessing students gifted in visual and performing arts. The ESCEO provides two opportunities a year for districts to refer students for screening. Our team provides district contacts with information and nomination forms.
